Adding Emoticons Well first, you need the emoticons, so make sure you have some or go to sites and find some (mine are from outspoken-kate.com). I dont know if your FTP unzips files for you, so if they dont, then you might want to download - open - extract - save. if they do unzip for you, then read on.

1. Go to your Cutenews folder - Data then upload your emoticons.
2. Go to the folder titled "emoticons" in your cutenews data directory.
3. Delete all the emoticons there.
4. Go to the folder with the emoticons you uploaded before and move them all to the emoticon folder that you just emptied.
5. Then go to your cutenews in a new window/tab and go to Options - System Configurations.
6. Notice where it says smiles it has a bunch of different words? Like happy, sad, mad ect? This is why you need the other window/tab.
7. Go to your emoticon folder where you just moved the new smilies and read the names (i read them 3 at a time).
8. If the first ones say "angry", "angel", "blank", then you want to go to the Cutenews page and change the default smiley names, the "happy", "sad", ect, to "angry", "angel", "blank", as goes for all smilies in that folder.
Once done, click save and the smiles should show up.
